Angelina Jolie Talks Tabloids: I Find Them Quite Shallow

First Published: November 28, 2011 12:55 PM EST Credit: Getty Images Caption Angelina Jolie steps out at the premiere of The Tree of Life at the Bing Theatre at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in Los Angeles on May 24, 2011LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Angelina Jolies romances, wild past and her family have all been a focus of the tabloids over the years, but the Oscar winner said the stories dont reveal true insight into who she is. I dont see those things and I dont know what they are, Angelina told Bob Simon in an interview to promote her directorial debut for the film, In the Land of Blood and Honey, on Sundays 60 Minutes. But, I assume theyre not me, theyre not who I am, theyre not what I spend my day caring about. The actress admitted she does occasionally get word over whats being reported, and she considers the magazines to be mostly erroneous fluff. I find them quite shallow and often wrong when I do hear about what they are, she said. Those stories about Angelina once wanting to be a funeral director, however, are true. It sounds like this very strange, eccentric dark thing to do, but in fact, I lost my grandfather and I was very upset with his funeral and so we discussed that maybe there are ways where this whole idea of how somebody passes and how a family deals with his passing and what death is, should be addressed in a different way, she said. If this acting thing didnt work out, that was going to be my back up. While acting has worked out just fine for Angelina, when asked if she prefers it when shes working or when Brad is (the two dont take projects that overlaps), she admitted to choosing family every time. When Im at home with the kids, she laughed. In the Land of Blood and Honey, hits theaters on December 23. Copyright 2011 by NBC Universal, Inc. All rights reserved.
